Angel Reese is getting her wings. On Thursday, Victoria’s Secret announced the WNBA star would walk the runway in its next fashion show on October 15. Reese will be the first professional athlete to ever model in the show.
Reese shared a look from a photo shoot she did for the brand ahead of the show, where she posed in black lingerie and white feathered angel wings. In the Instagram post, she said the opportunity felt like “stepping into a dream.” “From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL,” she wrote. “Wings on, heels ready … Catch me on the runway.”
The announcement comes a year after Reese first attended the brand’s infamous runway show. “Just last year, I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway,” she told People on Wednesday, “and now I get to return as an Angel.”
The Chicago Sky player has been making some big moves in the fashion world recently. Earlier this week, she was announced as the new global ambassador for Juicy Couture and as the new face of its fragrance, Viva La Juicy. She’s also designing her own clothing line for the brand, dubbed Angel Couture. Sounds like she’s all in on the early-aughts nostalgia. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a dELiA*s collab next.
