Promoting heart-healthy living four years running.

GREENSBORO — Cone Health invites women across the community to the Fourth Annual Women’s Heart Community Event, presented by TE Connectivity, on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Union Square, 124 East Gate City Blvd, Greensboro. This free event is dedicated to educating and empowering women to take charge of their heart health through expert-led classes, preventative screenings, and hands-on wellness activities.

Now in its fourth year, the Women’s Heart Community Event has become a trusted resource for women of all ages and backgrounds. The event provides an opportunity to learn from Cone Health’s leading physicians, nurses, and wellness experts about how to prevent and manage heart disease, the leading cause of death for women in the United States. According to the CDC, heart disease is the leading cause of death for women, accounting for one in every five female deaths in the United States. Approximately 45% of women aged 20 and older in the U.S. have some form of cardiovascular disease.

“Women attending the symposium will be empowered with knowledge on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle and prevent heart disease.” said Dr. Kardie Tobb, medical director of the women heart health/cardio-obstetrics clinic.

Attendees will have access to free heart health screenings, nutrition and fitness workshops, and one-on-one discussions with heart and vascular care specialists. Information about preventative care and community services will also be available to help women take the next step toward better heart health.

“This event is a chance to give women the tools they need to prioritize their heart health,” said Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, president and CEO of Cone Health. “By providing education, screenings, and wellness programs, we’re helping women take proactive steps toward living healthier lives.”

While pre-registration is not required, attendees are encouraged to reserve their spot at conehealth.com/communityheart to assist with planning. On-site registration will be available throughout the event and attendees are encouraged to take part as their schedule permits. Free bus passes are available for those who need transportation and can be requested during registration or at the event.

Cone Health encourages community members to invite the women in their lives—mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends — to attend this event. For more information or questions, email womenhearthealth@conehealth.com
