Our 3-0 victory over Coventry City brought up a very special milestone for Mikel Arteta as he celebrated his 150th Premier League victory as our manager.
Goals from Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka gave us just the perfect start to the Premier League campaign, having lifted the title back in May.
Mikel has now joined some illustrious names to reach 150 victories in the Premier League, reaching the milestone just one game before his 250th league match in charge.
AMONG THE GREATS
Mikel’s road to 150 Premier League wins kicked off on New Year’s Day 2020, with goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis handing us a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.
Since then it has taken Mikel 249 matches to reach the target, with only four managers hitting the landmark number faster than our head coach.
Games taken to reach 150 Premier League wins
Since taking charge on December 26, 2019, only one manager has won more matches than Mikel Arteta. Our boss is only behind Pep Guardiola, who has 170 victories to his name in that time. But with the Spaniard now not in charge at Man City, Mikel is narrowing the gap.
Our boss is comfortably clear of the rest of the managers, with Jurgen Klopp in third and Eddie Howe in fourth.
Record since Boxing Day 2019
So where does Mikel rank in overall record? His impressive numbers since taking charge have put him joint 11th on the all-time list of most managerial wins, level with Mauricio Pochettino and just eight behind Mark Hughes in 10th.
Mikel’s 60.2% win percentage puts him among the greats. Only five managers who have taken charge of 100 games or more have a better win percentage than our Spaniard.
Our average of two points per game also positions Mikel nicely, putting him seventh in the all-time list.

Despite winning the Premier League in 2025/26, it was not the campaign where we’ve won the most matches under Mikel.
That belongs to the 2023/24 campaign, where we picked up a remarkable 28 wins out from 38 matches.

Mikel’s two biggest Premier League victories came within a month of each other, and both were away from home. We beat West Ham United 6-0 before doing the same against Sheffield United.
We’ve also won eight matches by a five-goal margin, against Chelsea, Burnley, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Norwich City, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Leeds United.
As for favourite opposition, Mikel has won 10 games against Wolves, as well as nine against West Ham, Tottenham, and Newcastle.
Bukayo Saka is the standout name in helping Mikel to 150 Premier League wins. No player has scored (61) or assisted (49) more than our No.7 since the start of Arteta’s journey.
