Luka Modric has officially extended his contract with Milan, while Roma have entered talks to sign Antonio Nusa from RB Leipzig: check out today’s transfer news from Serie A and Italian football.
Roma have missed out on Crysencio Summerville, so they need to start their search for attacking reinforcement from scratch. Reports from Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport suggest that RB Leipzig’s Nusa is their primary target now, but his price tag is around €55-60m. The Giallorossi are already in talks with the winger’s entourage.
Inter, on the other hand, are looking for defensive reinforcements and have scheduled a meeting with Cristian Romero’s agent this week, reports Fabrizio Romano. According to the Italian transfer expert, the Nerazzurri have made Romero their primary target, even ahead of a new right wing-back.
Another Tottenham player, Guglielmo Vicario, has been dropped by Spurs for their pre-season tour in Asia. Officially it’s due to a minor knock, but the Italian is believed not to be part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans, boosting Juventus’ hopes of securing a loan deal with an option to buy.
Milan have announced Modric’s contract extension until 2027 and, according to Footmercato, they have also beaten Rangers to the signing of 20-year-old Troyes defender Sankhoun Diawara.
Furthermore, youngster Francesco Camarda has signed a new deal until 2031.
The Rossoneri are also waiting for offers for Rafael Leao, and according to Calciomercato.com, Fenerbahce have scheduled a meeting with the Portuguese, who still hopes to move to any of Europe’s top five leagues.
Napoli director Giovanni Manna provided transfer updates at a press conference today, insisting that Kevin De Bruyne is still part of their plans, while there are more doubts surrounding Romelu Lukaku.
“Lukaku is on vacation, coming off a good World Cup, so we’ll see when he returns,” Manna said.
“De Bruyne has no decision to make. He was useful to the team last season until his injury; now he is a Napoli player.
“Frank Anguissa has a contract with Napoli, so I see no need to negotiate with him – Manna added – he is not for sale.”
