After an unsuccessful bid to become the next Los Angeles mayor, Spencer Pratt has met up with another former reality TV star-turned-politician.
“The Hills” alum posted a photo on Instagram on Tuesday, July 7, that showed him meeting with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office inside the White House. The photo appears to show him sitting beside his young son and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
“I will never stop fighting for my community,” Pratt wrote in the caption.
Pratt ran for the office of Los Angeles mayor as a Republican in the June 2 primary election but did not get enough votes to progress. The general election, set for Nov. 3, will be a faceoff between incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and City Council member Nithya Rama. Both women are Democrats.
Pratt’s Instagram post did not clarify the reason behind his meeting with Trump or offer any additional details.
USA TODAY has reached out to Pratt’s representatives and the White House for comment.
Trump calls California’s election ‘rigged’ after Spencer Pratt’s loss
Following the primary election, Trump circulated unfounded claims about California’s election laws on social media.
“Not possible for Spencer Pratt to have lost the L.A. runoffs after the big lead he had. 3rd World Nation. Rigged Elections!” Trump wrote in a June 8 Truth Social post.
His remarks were made after he abruptly exited a “Meet the Press” interview that aired June 7, following a tense disagreement with moderator Kristen Welker over the state’s election security.
Pratt was previously known as a reality TV villain on MTV’s hit show “The Hills” for six seasons in the 2000s.
During his LA campaign, he argued that Bass has proven to be inept and unable to handle the city’s homelessness rates and drug abuse epidemic since becoming mayor in 2022. In an Op-Ed for USA TODAY published in October, Bass touted that street homelessness had declined for two consecutive years for the first time in the city’s history.
