Democrats compare Donald Trump, Xi to fictional couples on social media

A TikTok on the Democrats’ official account compared US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to several fictional couples, mockingly suggesting that the two may also be an item.

The TikTok was posted shortly after Trump’s latest trip to China, which the president described as “incredible.”

The video featured the song Casual by Chappel Roan, where the singer describes interactions with her lover, asking if they were a serious couple or not.

“Was it casual?” the post read, alongside photos of Heated Rivalry’s Shane and Ilya, Off Campus’s Allie and Dean, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’s Lara Jean and Peter, and, of course, Trump and Xi.

The Democrats’ TikTok regularly uploads posts mocking the president and members of the Republican Party, aiming to reach young voters with less serious content.

However, the account’s followers were not impressed, calling the post “immature” and “embarrassing” in the comments.

“America needs a serious government,” one comment said.

The Republican TikTok follows a similar style with its content, sharing footage mocking members of the Democratic Party, including photos of Jeffrey Epstein with former president Bill Clinton, and claiming Minority House Leader Hakeem Jeffries was editing his appearance on Instagram.

Similar to the Democratic Party, comments on the Republican Party’s account often call out the hypocrisy of the posts.
