EAGLE RIVER, Wisc. (WJFW)—A lot of hard work goes into opening a new business and the owners of Pine and Pour Coffee Co. truly poured their hearts into opening up an Eagle River coffee spot. Now they’re inviting the community to pull up a chair and stay a while.

The controlled chaos of opening day was a long-awaited moment for Owner, Emily Mathews.

“We’re just happy and excited to be in the community now.” Mathews said.

Customers began pouring through the doors Wednesday morning as Mathews and her husband officially opened the shop after months of preparation.

After working at a café during college, Mathews realized she wanted to open a shop of her own that provided caffeine and community.

“We really wanted to create a space where everyone can come and just gather,” Mathews said. “Have fun, feel welcomed and just have great sips.”

From learning the ins and outs of running a business to keeping up with the first morning rush, Mathews says the experience has already been a whirlwind.

“I’m so glad everyone has come out to support us,” Mathews said. “It’s been a really great time for everyone to learn. We are just rolling with the punches.”

For Mathews, opening a business comes with a simple goal, “I hope everybody leaves feeling better than when they came in.”

As the shop settles in for the summer, Mathews has plans to add a food menu and open up the building’s drive through.

“There’s lots to come.” Mathews said.

Pine and Pour is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 8 AM to 3PM on Saturday, and 8 AM to 1 PM on Sundays.
