Following some rumors that Steven Yeun was up for a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4, the Invincible star has set the record straight.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in United States theaters this coming summer. Directed by Wonder Man and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
There were previously rumors floating around that Yeun may have been cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Some speculated that Marvel may have tapped him to play the villainous Mister Negative; however, there was never any official announcement that was made about Yeun’s casting.
This came after Yeun was originally tapped to play Sentry in Thunderbolts*. The Invincible voice actor ultimately had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts that arose due to the 2023 strikes; Lewis Pullman instead played the character in Thunderbolts*, though Yeun said he was still open to starring in an MCU movie should the opportunity arise.

Yeun answered, “Oh, man. If there was, I wouldn’t… I don’t know about it. But that would have been dope.”
While Yeun may not be appearing in Spider-Man 4, there are a number of other recognizable faces who will be.
