ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Assassin, the upcoming action thriller from Omnibus Entertainment. The movie will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on April 17, 2026.
“Shanghai. 1930s. Occupied and on the brink of war. When elite fighter Mubai is recruited for a top-secret assassination, he’s thrown into brutal battle against the Japanese military machine,” reads the official synopsis. “Hunted through city streets, train lines, and enemy strongholds, Mubai fights his way through ambushes, explosions, and brutal close-quarters combat to reach a single target who could change history. With time running out and bodies piling up, survival depends on speed, skill, and nerve.”

What happens in the Assassin trailer?
The video highlights the movie’s relentless and nonstop fighting sequences, which follow the same style as popular action movies like John Wick, The Raid, and Ong Bak. The film promises to deliver elite fight choreography that will leave the audience on the edge of their seats. It features a top assassin whose latest mission requires him to go up against the Japanese military.
Assassin is directed by Zhou Jiuquin, with Lin Huang writing the screenplay. The cast includes Jinhao Guo, Ray Lui, Di Wang, and Ming Wang. The movie is produced by Xuanyi Wang. The stunt team consists of action choreographer Zhengguang Lu, action director Guan Su, and stunt rigging coordinator Wenting Guo, along with stunt performers Qiankun Li, Yi Pan, Feng Shu, Peng Xiang, Ruiyan Xie, Long Yang, Wenpu Yang, Zhiyong Yang, Zongwei Yang, and Yangshan Zheng. It currently has a total runtime of 90 minutes.
