Michael B. Jordan says his Fourth Wing TV adaptation will be ‘something that feels honest’

Michael B. Jordan has provided a notable update for the upcoming television adaptation of Fourth Wing. He emphasized that the series will be handled with a focus on authenticity. The actor, who is developing the series through his production company Outlier Society in collaboration with Amazon, addressed the project while attending the annual Academy Awards luncheon in Los Angeles.

In a conversation with the BBC, Jordan acknowledged that casting will be one of the most important aspects of the production. He said, “When it’s done the right way, I think you can have a nice balance where casting won’t be distracting.”

The actor suggested that the size of the series allows for a deep cast of characters. “It allows people to, like, fall in love with the characters that they have imagined in their head without any baggage, with projecting their own feelings on certain casts,” he added.

Jordan also addressed the tone of the adaptation, which centers on dragons, magic, warfare and romance. He noted, “So just know, it’s nothing cheesy coming out. It ain’t no obvious choices. I think it’s going to be something that feels honest.” Jordan is attached as an executive producer on the project. When asked whether he might appear on screen himself, he declined to confirm any involvement in front of the camera. “I don’t know,” he said.

Adapted from Rebecca Yarros’ widely successful Empyrean novels, the series has sold millions of copies worldwide. Multiple parts have already been published, with additional books planned.
