A family’s pain may be the pleasure of another. That’s how a former detective in New York City sees one side of the suspected kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie. Paul Mauro’s theory is that those who allegedly took the mother of Savannah Guthrie are raising a lot of suspicions with their behavior.
As such, he believes those who might have her are simply “playing games.” The family have been desperate to track her down as she’s 84 and without the medication needed for her heart. She was first reported missing on February 1.

The alleged kidnappers may not be able to provide the Guthrie’s with one key element they’re seeking, proof of life. That’s what Paul thinks may be happening. Speaking on The Big Weekend Show on Fox News Sunday, Paul believed this could “all be a hoax.” He adds that they may have anticipated they’d seek proof of life before going through with this. According to him, they may be realizing they can’t.
If true, the former NYPD investigator says the plan B is to bargain. Last week, a ransom note was sent to a news outlet, and then turned over to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. Another ransom note, deemed a hoax, led to an arrest. Savannah and her brother Cameron have sent separate video messages to the alleged kidnappers saying they’re ready to talk. Both ask for proof of life.
It’s been confirmed that the blood found at Nancy’s home in Tucson is hers. Police are treating it as a crime, with Sheriff Chris Nanos believing she’s alive. Donald Trump vowed to offer all resources needed to the family last week.
Entering week two of her missing things are seemingly getting desperate. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information that may help find Nancy.
