Thirteen lucky London coffee joints have just earnt themselves a comfy spot on the list of the best coffee shops in the country.
As a girl who functions almost exclusively on caffeine, I’m really rather invested (both financially and emotionally) in the capital’s coffee shop scene. And so it comes as no surprise to me that in a recent list of the UK’s best coffee shops; London earned itself a fair few comfy seats at the table. The list in question came courtesy of The Best Coffee Shops UK; a bunch of coffee connoisseurs that have recently scoured he length and breadth of Britain in search of the cream crema of the crop.
On a mission to celebrate the excellence that’s poured into the country’s coffee cups, the list was created using a pretty thorough process. Based on factors including quality of coffee, barista expertise, customer service, ambience and atmosphere, food and pastry quality, consistency, community, and innovation (I told you it was thorough), the espresso-experts chose their favourite coffee shops which were then combined with public votes to create the final list. And whilst 13 is an unlucky number for some; it certainly isn’t for London – because that’s how many of the capital city’s coffee shops were named among the best in the country.

- Prufrock Coffee, Clerkenwell
- Calico Coffee, Waterloo
- Moonstruck Cafe, Stockwell
- Catalyst Café, Holborn
- Curators Coffee, City of London
- Carbon Kopi, Baron’s Court
- ZeroToOne, City of London
- Formative Coffee, Westminster
- Specialty Cafetiere, Hackney
- Nostos Coffee, St James’s
- Saint Nine, Southwark
- Scenery, Southwark
Each of these shortlisted spots are now in the running to earn themselves a highly-coveted place on the list of the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026. These lucky locales will be announced in an award ceremony on February 16.
