Fortnum & Mason’s Hong Kong branch to close on January 25, holds clearance sale

Fortnum & Mason, the upmarket department store chain that counts the British royal family among its regular customers, has announced that its flagship shop in Hong Kong will close by the end of the month.

The British luxury goods brand, known for its speciality teas and food hampers, announced on Friday that the store, which opened in 2019, would also offer discounts of up to 60 per cent ahead of its closure.

“We want to share that we have taken the decision to close our store and restaurant in K11 Musea on 25th January 2026,” the store said on its official Instagram account.

“We would like to express our deepest thanks to you, our customers, for your custom over the years.

“Before we close this chapter, we’d love to have the chance to welcome you back and invite you to enjoy up to 60 per cent off in-store. We hope to see you soon.”

Fortnum & Mason made waves in 2019 when it chose Hong Kong for its first stand-alone shop in Asia since the closure of its overseas outlet in Dubai in 2017.

Ewan Venters, the CEO at the time, said the company had signed an eight-year lease to open a two-storey shop at Victoria Dockside, coinciding with the opening of K11 Musea.
