The Times names Cotswold hotel among most quirky in UK

The Times listed 21 of the most eccentric and “oddball” places to spend a night away in the country, with The Fish just outside Broadway making the grade.

With a vast variety of available accommodation on site – ranging from tree house stays to shepherds huts, attendees are sure for a unique experience.

The paper wrote: “Is it a hotel, a resort, a woodland village? There’s such a variety of accommodation on offer here, from treehouses and chic shepherds’ huts to traditional hotel rooms, it’s hard to tell.

“The Fish bills itself as a deconstructed hotel, which sounds rather like something that’s in the process of being demolished; but really, it’s a country hotel combined with a posh lodge complex, all surrounded by Cotswold woodland.

“Some of the accommodation would look right at home on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.

“The treehouses are pretty hard to beat, with curvy balconies winding around tree trunks, rustic bunkbeds for the kids and outdoor tubs and wood burners for adult relaxation.”
