The fast food chain’s Caramel Loaded McFlurry launched in the UK on September 10, along with the latest Monopoly Game Promotion and a host of other new and returning menu items.
However, the McFlurry hasn’t lasted long, with McDonald’s already pulling it from menus.
McDonald’s removes Caramel Loaded McFlurry from menus due to “quality control issue”
McDonald’s removed the Caramel Loaded McFlurry from its UK restaurants due to a “quality control issue”.
A McDonald’s spokesperson: “We are aware of a quality control issue relating to the Caramel Loaded McFlurry and can confirm that the item has been removed from our menu.
“At McDonald’s, we place a strong emphasis on quality control and are disappointed by any instance where we fall short of our standards.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Discontinued UK chocolates and sweets
The removal came after numerous reports online about the caramel chunks in the McFlurry being too hard.
One person on the Reddit group r/McDonaldsUK said: “Was like gnawing on a roof tile.”
Another added: “Chewing on a handful of gravel would give a similar experience.”
While a third person commented: “I got one and literally couldnt eat it, it tasted vile & the bits where like hard bits of plastic. vile and an absolute waste of money.”

Another McDonald’s customer, posting on Facebook group Snack Reviews, even said they’d “cracked a tooth” while eating a Caramel Loaded McFlurry.
They wrote: “I literally just cracked my tooth on the hard fudge bits that are in the caramel McFlurry, they’re not even chewable.”
