A range of Les Florentins Chocolat Biscuits have been recalled by TJX Europe due to the problem.
They are sold at TK Maxx and Homesense in the UK, and shoppers here have been warned about the potential health risks by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
They explained: “TJX Europe is recalling Les Florentins Chocolat Biscuits, because they contain undeclared gluten which is not mentioned on the label.

“This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease or intolerance to gluten.
“Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.
“If you have bought the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to gluten, do not eat them.
“Instead, return them to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a refund or a replacement. For more information contact TJX Europe Customer Service on 01923 473561 or email: customerservice@tjxeurope.com .”
These are the biscuits affected by the recall:
- Les Florentins Orange Chocolat Noir – best before June 20, 2026
- Les Florentins Caramel Chocolat Lait – best before July 2, 2026
- Les Florentins Orange Chocolat Lait – best before July 3, 2026
- Les Florentins Fruits Rouges Chocolate Noir – best before June 20, 2026
- Les Florentins Menthe Chocolat Noir – best before July 7, 2026
- Les Florentins Citron Chocolat Noir – best before June 19, 2026
A spokesman for TJX Europe added: “We are recalling these products due to possible presence of gluten. While this information is stated on the original packaging, it was omitted from the additional label.
“As a result, these products may pose a health risk consumers with a gluten allergy or intolerance.
“If you have purchased this product and are allergic to gluten, please return to any TK Maxx or Homesense store.
“You can get a full refund or replacement.”
What is a product recall?
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).
The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.
In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued.
This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.
