Trip.com unveils free Hong Kong layover tours

Trip.com has rolled out a new free layover tour service at Hong Kong, allowing travellers to make the most of long connection times.

The free layover tour service at Hong Kong International Airport presents six half-day itineraries – three for free and three premium options.

They include all transport and English-speaking guides.

They are available to all international travellers transiting through HKIA with layovers of seven hours or more.

Bookings can be made on the Trip.com app, or on the website.

It can also be booked in person at the HKIA transit counters and is not restricted to just Trip.com customers.

Trip.com previously launched a similar service with the Shanghai Express and Beijing Express free layover tours.

Vivian Cheung, CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong said: “We are delighted to introduce the new free local tour service to turn transit time into cultural exploration opportunities.”

The tours offer urban experiences, nature and local heritage.

The paid tours will visit Lantau Island, Victoria Peak, and Tai O fishing village.

After clearing immigration, tour participants meet their guide at the Trip.com counter.

Each tour lasts around four hours, and accommodates up to 20 guests.

At the end of the tour, participants receive a fast-track pass to re-enter the airport restricted area, for their onward flights.
