Alberta is bursting with numerous beautiful locations, and one spot has just been named the third most picturesque in the world.
According to a recent roundup by U.K.-based travel agency Travelbag, it analyzed 98 national parks, ranking them using a combined score based on both Instagram hashtags and TikTok posts to unveil the best spots.
Alberta’s very own Banff National Park came in third place globally and second in North America, just behind the Grand Canyon National Park, which holds first place on the continent.

Banff landed on the list thanks to its vast number of picture-worthy hiking trails, glaciers, bright blue lakes (hello there, Peyto and Moraine Lake), a mountain that looks like a castle, and Canada’s longest cave.
Banff has previously been named one of the most Instagrammable places in the world, so it definitely checks out that it’s landed on this list, too.
To reveal the world’s most Instagrammable national parks, Travelbag analyzed 98 parks using two key factors: Instagram hashtags and TikTok views.
Each park was assigned the most relevant hashtag, typically its name (e.g., #Yellowstone), or, where necessary, a refined version including “national park” (e.g., #YellowstoneNationalPark) to ensure accurate results.
The total number of Instagram hashtags and TikTok views was collected for each park. The park with the highest count on each platform received a score of 10, with all others scaled proportionally.
Scores from Instagram and TikTok were then averaged to create a total Index, ensuring both platforms contributed equally to the final rankings of the most Instagrammable national parks worldwide.
If you’re on the hunt for spots in Alberta to check out, a surprising spot was just tapped by National Geographic as a must-visit in Canada.
