Data collected in August 2025 by Gallup found that only 54% of U.S. adults say they drink, the lowest number recorded since the firm started tracking drinking behaviors 90 years ago. The data also found that women generally were more likely to see even moderate drinking as unhealthy; this comes as a growing body of research points to the detrimental health effects of alcohol.
