Four pigeons have been found glued to the top of a wall in Tsuen Wan, unable to fly as their legs were stuck to the structure, with Hong Kong police investigating the case as one of suspected animal abuse.
A force spokesman said a man called police on Monday evening after discovering streaks of glue covering a wall near the car park of Block Two of Tsuen King Garden, with four pigeons seen in the same position with their feet stuck on the structure at noon and 7pm.
But a source familiar with the matter said the lack of surveillance cameras at the site was affecting how the force could handle the case.
“Since there were no CCTVs at the site, [we] have yet to be able to prove that someone deliberately applied the glue at the spot,” the source said.
As of Tuesday morning, officers reclassified the case as one of suspected animal abuse.
