3 Popular ABC TV Shows Renewed Including 9-1-1

ABC is bringing back three of its most popular shows for new seasons, including the hit procedural drama 9-1-1.

What ABC TV shows were renewed for new seasons?

Up first for ABC, the company renewed its procedural drama 9-1-1 for a 10th season (via Deadline). Created by Ryan Murphy, 9-1-1 follows the stories of various Los Angeles first responders, and the (sometimes outrageous) situations they find themselves in.

The show currently stars Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Heweitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Corinne Massiah, Elijah M. Cooper, and Gavin McHugh. The show originally premiered in 2018 on Fox, but moved to ABC beginning with Season 7. To date, the show has been a big success, earning over 4 million viewers per season.

ABC also renewed the 9-1-1 spin-off, 9-1-1: Nashville, for a second season. The show is the second spin-off of the 9-1-1 franchise, following 9-1-1: Lone Star, and follows emergency responders in Nashville. The show stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, Hailey Kilgore, and Hunter McVey. The show is created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani.

Finally, ABC is also renewing High Potential for a third season, and bringing on a new showrunner as well. The series, which stars It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson, is one of ABC’s top dramas, and will need a new showrunner following the exit of Todd Harthan, who is leaving to run the upcoming Eragon series.

High Potential follows the story of Morgan (Olson), a mother working as a cleaning lady at the LAPD, who’s high IQ helps her eventually become a consultant for the police. Alongside Olson, the show also stars Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, and more. Olson and the cast of the show celebrated the news with a new post on social media.
