The UK Travel Health Pro has recently shared concerning news that may affect the ability of travelers from the United Kingdom to visit about 30 countries where a yellow fever vaccination is required starting in July 2025.
As of June 27, 2025, Sanofi informed the UK’s National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) of an expected disruption in the supply of the yellow fever (YF) vaccine Stamaril® (17D-YFV, 17D-213) for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
The UK states that if a provider is unable to provide the YF vaccine during this vaccine shortage, the provider is expected to proactively research alternative supplies in their locality and direct travellers accordingly.
However, some vaccine wholesalers in the UK may still have Stamaril in stock during this period and could continue to distribute the vaccine.
If attempts to source the YF vaccine are unsuccessful, health professionals can contact the NaTHNaC advice line to discuss with an advisor.
As of June 29, 2025, there is no indication that the supply of Sanofi Pasteur’s YF-VAX® vaccine in the United States has been disrupted. This yellow fever vaccine is offered at certified travel clinics and pharmacies in the U.S.
As of June 2025, the overall risk associated with the yellow fever virus in the Americas Region, particularly in endemic areas such as Brazil, is classified as ¨High.¨
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended when visiting these countries in 2025. Proof of vaccination may be required upon arrival.
