Oswald didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment but typically the TV station will not comment on personnel matters. Slater also didn’t immediately respond to a request.

Slater has been the station’s early morning meteorologist since July 2019, when her predecessor Sally Severson reduced her schedule. She is a Milwaukee area native who joined Channel 12 in June 2016.

Prior to WISN-TV, Slater worked for WDBD-TV in Jackson, Mississippi, and served as an intern for WKOW-TV in Madison.

According to her LinkedIn, Slater attended undergraduate school at Carroll University in Waukesha and Mississippi State University. She has a master’s degree in crisis/emergency/disaster management from the Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
