MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – The Wisconsin State Senate passed several bills on Tuesday, including a bill requiring school boards across the state to adopt policies that ban “non-educational wireless devices,” such as personal cell phones, in schools.
The bill includes sensible exceptions to the ban, including use in the event of a threat, medical necessity, or technology that a teacher determines is beneficial for learning purposes.
The legislation now awaits Governor Evers signature. If signed, the bill will become law.
