Marissa Bode (“Wicked,” “Wicked: For Good”) is set to join the judges’ table at the 11th annual Her Universe Fashion Show.
The event takes place during San Diego Comic-Con on July 24 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein and Broadway star Michael James Scott are set to co-host the fashion show for the third consecutive year, with director, writer, and producer Jeremy Merrifield returning as show director.
“Marissa captivated the screen in “Wicked” and I instantly became a Marissa Bode fan,” Eckstein said in a statement. “Her talent, heart, beauty and genuine authenticity radiate off the screen and we are so incredibly honored to have her be a part of this year’s Her Universe Fashion Show.”
The judges’ roster also includes Variety senior editor of culture and events Marc Malkin, Robin Motts, SVP of Hot Topic Merchandising, and the 2024 Her Universe Fashion Show winners, Wes Jenkins and Candice Miller.
The 11th Annual Her Universe Fashion Show’s theme for 2025 will be “Defying Fashion: Fashion That Defies Expectations,” set to be inspired by various Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation franchises. The judging panel will choose one winner alongside the audience’s fan vote to determine the two designers awarded a cash prize of $2,000. The winners will also be offered the opportunity to design a fashion collection with Her Universe.
Additionally, Eckstein and Scott will host the “Her Universe Fashion Show After Party” on July 25 at the Neil Morgan Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library during a live taping of their newly announced podcast “HypeFriend!” during the convention.
