It hasn’t been long since Oklahomans could fill up their tanks for less than $2 a gallon. Now, due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, prices have skyrocketed.

The national average keeps climbing. According to AAA Fuel Prices, the national average rose to $3.956 as of Monday, March 23. Oklahoma’s average slightly decreased from previous days, now at $3.250, though some counties see prices as high as $3.964.

California residents are paying the highest gas prices in the country, with an average of $5.790 a gallon. Only three states, California, Washington and Hawaii, have an average above $5.
