Crossroads Live producers Barry and Fran Weissler and David Ian have announced that the critically acclaimed romantic musical, ‘Waitress’, will begin its UK and Ireland tour at the New Wimbledon Theatre on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Waitress is set to feature award-winning West End actress Carrie Hope Fletcher as the lead character Jenna for a limited run.
Carrie is currently performing in the UK and Ireland tour of ‘Calamity Jane’.
Her previous theatre credits include roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Cinderella’, ‘Heathers’, and ‘The Addams Family’, for which she earned a Best Actress in a Musical award at the WhatsOnStage Awards.
The musical, which was inspired by the 2007 film written by Adrienne Shelly, features music and lyrics by Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles.
It tells the story of Jenna, an accomplished pie maker in a small town, who seeks a way out of her unfulfilling marriage.
The tale explores themes of friendship, motherhood, and the courage to change one’s life.
After its debut on Broadway on April 24, 2016, Waitress has received multiple awards and nominations in both the UK and America, enjoying international success with further productions in North America, Japan, Holland, a French language production in Canada, and a Spanish language production in Mexico.
The show celebrated its West End premiere at the Adelphi Theatre on March 7, 2019.
Tickets are set to go on sale from September 19, 2025.
