As of last Wednesday, February 25th,2026, Visa-free travellers going to the UK will need to obtain permission prior to their visit under the expansion of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme, which applies to all visitors.
Visitors to the UK from 85 countries must now obtain this Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) permit in advance of entry.
The ETA is a digital permission to travel to the UK.
To purchase the pre-travel permit online, it costs £16 ($58.50 XCD), and according to authorities, airlines will prevent passengers from boarding if they do not have the ETA, eVisa or other valid documentation.
It also applies to people who cross the border and travel through the UK as part of a journey.
Applications can be done via the “UK ETA app” or the GOV.UK website.
