Vintage bridal fashion show to benefit girls’ home in Nicaragua

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Whether you’re planning your big day or just love a good, vintage fashions how, Estelle Amore has just the event for you.

The vintage bridal shop is hosting a Fashion Show Fundraiser to support Emmanuel Home of Protection, a safe home in Nicaragua for young girls who have been rescued from sexual abuse and human trafficking.

The fashion show will feature 30 curated vintage wedding gowns, all of which will be available for purchase, but owner Estelle Straate says that’s not what this show it about.

“The fashion show is going to be great, but the real purpose of this evening is to raise awareness and funds for the home,” Staate said on WBRC Tuesday. “We have a little time of welcome where guests can come in, get seated and then the show will start. And then after the show itself, we also are going to share a lot more about the Emmanuel Home of Protection in Nicaragua.”

Tickets to attend to the show will cost $25 with all proceeds going directly to the Emmanuel Home. Additionally, proceeds from every gown sold from the show will also be donated.

The Fashion Show Fundraiser will take place Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at Gabrella Manor in Birmingham.

“It’s a gorgeous venue, a historic home here in Birmingham, and they’ve generously donated it for us for the evening,” Straate said.

To purchase tickets, send Estelle Amore a message through their Instagram profile.
