Elon Musk has said the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will be shut down.
Musk said during an X Spaces stream early on Monday discussing the work of the Department of Government efficiency that President Donald Trump “agreed” with him that the agency should be shut down.
“I checked with him a few times. ‘Are you sure?’ Yes, we’re shutting it down,” Musk said, according to reporter Igor Bobic.
His comments came just hours after Trump told reporters on Sunday that the agency was being run by “a bunch of radical lunatics and we’re getting them out.”
This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
