The United States and the United Kingdom have issued travel advisories for India following an incident near the Red Fort in Delhi. With several states and cities across India on high alert following the incident, security has been tightened at all city border points. Further, vehicle checks have been intensified.

Travel advisory: What tourists in India need to know

According to a report by PTI, the US said it is continually monitoring the situation and is ready to provide any required consular assistance. The US Embassy has asked all its citizens to avoid crowded areas, as well as refrain from visiting the sites surrounding Delhi’s Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Visitors are advised to monitor local media for updates, stay aware of their surroundings, especially in places that are frequented by tourists.
The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has issued a travel advisory for British citizens visiting India:
- Avoid travel within 10 km of the India-Pakistan border area.
- The advisory warns against all travel to Jammu and Kashmir, including popular destinations like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, and Srinagar.
- Travel on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway is discouraged.
- Air travel to and from Jammu and movement within Jammu city are permitted.

In a separate note, the Indian airline Akasa Air has issued a travel advisory. With security measures increased at all airports across India, the airline has asked passengers to reach their respective airports at least 3 hours before their flight to ensure seamless check-in and boarding.
