US Army Corps of Engineers to host free workshop in Des Moines July 31

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a free regulatory workshop July 31 in Des Moines to share updates, innovations, and best practices.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will host a free informational workshop on July 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Iowa Convention Center in Des Moines.

The event is open to the public and will feature presentations by USACE regulatory experts, alongside federal, state, and local partners and industry consultants. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, learn about recent updates, and gain insights into the Corps’ regulatory processes.

The full-day workshop will focus on how the USACE Regulatory Program is using innovation to streamline operations. Topics will include regulatory updates, guidance on submitting complete applications, jurisdictional determinations, and permit types, exemptions, and exclusions.

The schedule also features a demonstration of the new Regulatory Request System (RRS) and a briefing on mitigation updates.
