Travel Advisory 2025: If you are planning a spontaneous vacation, or prepping for an upcoming trip, here are a few destinations in India and across the world that are facing natural and geopolitical issues, making it hard for travellers to explore them.

Singapore & Hong Kong
If you’ve been chalking out your summer itineraries with breaks right around the corner, you might want to skip Singapore and Hong Kong. Both the countries are seeing a rise in covid cases of late. According to reports, health authorities in both countries have been seeing the virus spread rapidly. Hong Kong’s health experts are closely watching signs like rising viral loads in sewage and a spike in Covid-related medical visits. In Singapore, cases jumped by 28% to an estimated 14,200 in the week ending May 3, compared to the week before. Daily hospitalisations also saw a 30% increase.

Turkey & Azerbaijan
As per reports, travel booking platforms have registered over 250% increase in cancellations for trips to Turkey and Azerbaijan. The shift in travel sentiment follows widespread public outrage over these two countries and their open support for Pakistan during India’s ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor’. Many Indians have taken to social media demanding a boycott of tourism to these two countries, which have traditionally been popular with honeymooners, luxury travellers, and history buffs alike.

Bengaluru
Bengaluru was left reeling after heavy rainfall on Sunday night caused widespread waterlogging, halting daily life and sparking emergency rescue efforts across the city. With just 10.5 cm of rain, even before the official monsoon onset, roads turned into rivers, and dinghies and tractors had to be deployed to reach stranded residents. The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued alerts on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, urging commuters to avoid waterlogged routes. Some of the worst-hit areas included Manyata Tech Park, BTM Layout, Ejipura Junction, and HSR Layout’s 5th and 6th sectors, along with the ever-flood-prone Silk Board Junction and Sai Layout.
