The Trump standout in downtown Hanson drew more than 300 supporters, holding Trump flags and signs in support of the Republican nominee.
“This I sense, has hit a nerve with the town,” a supporter said.
The standout was sparked by a “Trump 2024” sign that was projected on the town’s water tower at night.
When Hanson officials heard about the political ad projected on the municipal water tower, it started fining the anonymous neighbor, now known as Mr. X, $100 a day.
“We just wanted to show our support for Mr. X and his light projection,” a supporter said.
The town now uses flood lights to wash out the Trump 2024 projection, adding “the town is going to continue its efforts in trying to dim the image with spotlights and fining the resident each day that the image continues to be projected onto town property.”
Trump supporters said Sunday’s standout raised thousands to help pay for any fines the Hanson homeowner may face and gathered new support for the candidate.
“All the cars going by are waving, beeping, shaking their hands and their hats out the window,” a supporter said. “It’s wonderful.”
