Trump says Biden’s ‘lock him up’ comment proves persecution

President Joe Biden told a group of campaign workers in New Hampshire Tuesday, “We’ve got to lock him up,” referring to former President Donald Trump.

Trump the next day jumped on the moment, claiming Biden’s comment proves he is being politically persecuted.

“As I’ve said, these lawsuits are being run by the Department of Justice, the FBI. Biden is behind it all, believe it or not, and he proved that yesterday with his stupid statement,” Trump said. The former president was convicted by a New York jury in May on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Trump also faces counts in three other cases related to his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House and efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
