Anchorage will see one last walk down the runway for Trend Alaska this weekend. The long-running fashion event is set for its final show on Saturday at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.
The showcase highlights designers from across the state, blending high fashion with Alaska’s cultural style. Proceeds from the evening will support the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.
Organizers say preparations are in full swing ahead of the show.
“We are ironing. We are hanging things. We are putting them together. We have about 900 people that are going to be here. And so everyone gets to go home with a trench coat full of goodies from our sponsors. So we have to stuff all those 1000 trench coats too,” said Carol Fraser with Trend Alaska.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Volunteers are still needed to help bring the event together, as Trend Alaska takes its final bow in downtown Anchorage.
