This Summer, The World’s Top Fashion Houses Are Homing In On Luxury Hotels

From cities to coast and countryside, the world’s most famous fashion houses are increasingly connecting with their clientele through collaborations at the world’s top hotels, with Dior, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and the Missoni fashion groups all leaving the catwalk for poolside and beyond this summer.

In Sicily, San Domenico Palace, A Four Seasons Hotel, has renewed its collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. This year the hotel showcases the fashion house’s distinctive blue and white “Blu Mediterraneo”, which celebrates the majolica craftsmanship of southern Italy, with products including umbrellas, towels, cushions, pillows, cabanas, trays, and coasters. A dedicated Dolce & Gabbana pop-up boutique operates within the hotel throughout the summer season, accessible through the brand’s official retail network.

Also in Italy, the Hotel Cipriani in Venice which one of Belmond’s beautifully nuanced hotels, has seen the Dioriviera arrive at a special pop-up in the hotel, which features a dedicated beach collection not available elsewhere. And in one of Venice’s very best viewpoints, overlooking Venice’s lagoon towards St Mark’s Square, is a new bar, Il Bacaro Dior, with 1950s-style bamboo furniture in Dior’s famous toile de Jouy.

According to Christian Dior, “living in a house which does not suit you is like wearing someone else’s clothes”. Even with the opening of his first boutique, the couturier conceived a space that also sold accessories and gifts for the home. At the Lowell Hotel in New York’s Upper East Side, the Majorelle restaurant is showcasing Dior Maison Lily of the Valley tableware and a special tea with culinary nods to Dior’s favourite colours and flavours.

In Somerset, Burberry has a playful collaboration with the Newt hotel. The collaboration, which launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will continue until the 18th of August, celebrates the best of British craftsmanship and style, and pays homage to Burberry’s deep-rooted history of finding inspiration in the outdoors Guests can expect Burberry’s world-famous check pattern woven into the fabric of the estate, including branded Burberry parasols and golf buggies but also mown into its croquet and badminton lawns.

In the principality of Monaco, the French fashion house Jacquemus has brought its signature aesthetic, think banana yellow, coconut milk white, and classic black stripes, to the Monte-Carlo Beach Club, infusing the iconic pier and Pool Café with a breath of Mediterranean glamour.

Just down the coast at La Croix-Valmer, acclaimed Paris-based jewellery designer Aurélie Bidermann and the Lily of the Valley hotel have combined to produce a collection of bangles, shell-like charms and other items alongside beachside staples: caps, towels, totes and keyrings, all echoing this much-loved hotel.

On Greece’s most fashionable island, the Cali Mykonos has debuted the Missoni Resort Club with custom-designed daybeds and beach accessories, along with exclusive Missoni-branded towels. The design includes daybeds adorned with Missoni’s signature graphic stripes in a spectrum of blues. The property’s private beach has umbrellas, headrests and poofs all showcasing the now recognisable design. Guests will also enjoy Missoni-branded towels and exclusive tote bags, available for purchase at the resort boutique.

On Ibiza, Missoni’s collaboration with the OKU has transformed the hotel’s striking 50-metre swimming pool. And back in Venice, the J Marriott Venice resort on the private Isola delle Rosa has and a Missoni glow-up with pool amenities and furnishing and a pop-up boutique, all of which is in place until September 15.
