Hong Kong’s Festival Walk is set to bring citizens a humorous and creative Easter holiday. From April 11 to May 5, 2025, the globally viral meme character “Chill Guy” will make his first appearance in Hong Kong, hosting the world’s first official “Chill Guy. Chill Walk Pop-up Store.”
Chill Guy was created by American digital artist Phillip Banks on October 4, 2023. This dog, always seen in a grey sweater, blue jeans, and red sneakers, with his hands in his pockets and a calm smile on his face, expresses a fearless and carefree attitude towards life with the catchphrase “because I’m a chill guy.” Since his creation, “Chill Guy” has quickly gone viral online, becoming a focal point of creations and discussions from fans around the world.
At the Chill Guy. Chill Walk Pop-up Store, the 3-metre-tall giant “Chill Guy” statue in Festival Walk’s atrium is undoubtedly the most photo-worthy highlight. Additionally, several meme photo walls with unique local elements, such as the “Chilling” bus sign and the “Chill Minibus” photo wall, are infused with Chill Guy’s humorous style, sure to bring a smile to visitors’ faces.
For shopping enthusiasts, over 100 officially-licensed products will be available for purchase, including figurines, T-shirts, baseball caps, simple-use cameras, pokers, travel items, and various lifestyle items — all featuring different “Chill Guy” cartoon images in various meme scenarios. These items are practical and allow fans to collect and display the character’s images like stamps.
Moreover, the pop-up store will transform the DITTO.SNAP selfie studio of Festival Walk into a special “Chill Guy” themed selfie scene. Do you want to create your own exclusive meme images with “Chill Guy”? Don’t miss this opportunity!
Whether you’re a fan of “Chill Guy” or a meme culture enthusiast, this Easter break event at Festival Walk should not be missed. Come and experience the chillest holiday ever!
