The boutique opened in Market Street in 2022, where it operated for eight months before relocating to Hughes Landing in February 2023, Kupillas said.
The inspiration
Growing up in Russia, Kupillas said fashion was a priority to the women in her family and in her culture. Despite the cold weather, it was common to see women dressed in a high-end dress and high heels, she said.
After working as a biochemist for 30 years, Kupillas decided to turn her lifelong passion into a business with Bowtique.
“I feel like in biochemistry, it takes a long time to get final results; here you see a woman happy after 15 minutes trying on a new dress,” Kupillas said. “A lot of women have problems with low self esteem and when you take them from their comfort zone and open them to a new look, they feel happy.”
Though she originally founded the business in Oregon as Sabina Style, Kupillas said her experience as a business owner and resident in Oregon left room for improvement. After moving to Texas, Kupillas said she soon realized the area was more suitable for her business views and personal values.
In the Woodlands, she established her business under a different name with a goal of catering to women of all ages and styles.

What’s special about it
Kupillas said she believes women of all ages in Texas enjoy maintaining their sense of style and love for shopping. At Bowtique, women can find clothes for every occasion from casual to high-end clothing as well as formal dresses.
Sourced from locations including Europe, Russia, New York, Los Angeles and some affordable pieces from China, Bowtique offers clothing from $80-$400.

In addition, the boutique carries handbags and shoes imported from Italy such as cowgirl boots. It also offers accessories sourced from local vendors. In addition, Kupillas said she has a rack of clothing at O. P. Beauty Lab and Saint Rose salon.
Looking ahead, Kupillas hopes to expand with a second location in the Houston area.
