The Premier League transfer window has once again delivered its fair share of big-money moves, including a division-record deal, as well as an abundance of hidden gems, and calculated gambles. But when you bring them all together, the result is a starting XI brimming with talent and promise. From record-breaking recruits, to strikers carrying the weight of instant expectations, England’s top flight has once again flexed its financial muscle this summer, outspending every other league by some distance.
Transfermarkt has assembled the most valuable XI of players who joined Premier League clubs ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, based on our world-renowned market values. It’s a team stacked with international stars, rising prospects, and statement signings, offering a snapshot of how clubs have strengthened in their pursuit of glory this summer. On paper, this line-up could compete with Europe’s very best – now the question is which of these signings will live up to their price tags once the season gets underway. Getting up to speed early in the cauldron of the Premier League is never easy.
The most valuable XI of Premier League summer signings
In between the sticks is James Trafford, who returned to Manchester City – the club he came through at – for a fee of €31.2 million. He has a current market value of €22m. At right-back is Jeremie Frimpong, who swapped Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool for €40m, but he has a €50m market value. Liverpool also take the left-back position after signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for €46.9m – the Hungarian has a market value of €45m. Chelsea’s €44.2m signing of Jorrel Hato (market value: €35m), and Arsenal’s €15m signing of Christhian Mosquera (market value: €30m) complete the defence.
In central midfield it’s the Gunners €70m acquisition of Martín Zubimendi (mv: €60m), and Manchester City’s first inclusion, after their €55m signing of Tijjani Reijnders (mv: €50m). On the right-wing, it’s the new Premier League record signing. Liverpool splashed out €125m for German playmaker Florian Wirtz, who actually has a market value of €140m. On the left-wing, it’s Manchester United’s new Brazilian Matheus Cunha – the Red Devils paid €74.2m, but he has a current market value of €60m. Up front it’s Arsenal’s €65.8m transfer for Viktor Gyökeres (mv: €75m), and Liverpool’s €95m signing of Hugo Ekitiké (mv: €75m). The entire line-up consists of signings for ‘Big six’ clubs.
