It was a nice start to the week in weather, but now the 80s are back and we will stay the same warm and sunny all the way into next week. Any rain chances or fronts coming soon? Read below for more details.
Friday’s Sunrise Forecast
What We’re Tracking: Patchy fog has returned to parts of the Crossroads this morning with light Gulf winds. Fog will burn off by 9:00 a.m. with sunny skies taking over for the rest of the day. A repeat scenario is expected overnight tonight with more patchy fog developing after 2:00 a.m. Tonight’s fog will also come from calming Gulf winds, but these winds will actually be shifting from the north before that. This is because a very weak cool front/dry line boundary will be passing by today bringing dry afternoon humidity, but that will skyrocket once a sea breeze blows through around sunset flipping winds from the Gulf. With this weak frontal boundary today, highs will “cool” a couple degrees from the upper 80s to mid 80s for most this weekend. Going into next week, a high pressure system over W Mexico will slowly track towards Texas, putting the state on a warming trend. This is called “ridging” in the weather world when the jet stream above creates high pressure and converging air. Ridging high pressure will continue over us all through next week keeping highs in the mid/upper 80s, but this has potential to change with a large low pressure system in the Pacific slowly tracking this direction. This low system will come off the mountains late next week bringing possible rain chances for next weekend! Alert Days:
Extended Forecast: Spring is surely in full effect in South Texas with highs in our area ranging mid to upper 80s with areas west of us closer to Hill Country sitting in the 90s. Rain chances continue at a whopping 0%, but may finally pick up for next weekend when another low system comes out of the Pacific. This low should also bring back partial cloud cover with the Pacific Jet Stream. See below for your 7 Day Crossroads forecast!
