“The Decay of Fashion” is a Story Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Wishblossom Ranch that begins with a mystery quest giver. After helping the Hope Wishblossom and rescuing Maximus in “Crystal Cavern: Wishing Alps”, it is time to explore the mysterious map area of Glamour Gulch and follow Cruella de Vil’s trail. However, there is some necessary preparation to reach Glamour Gulch, including leveling up Maximus.
Reach Friendship Level 3 with Maximus to leap to Glamour Gulch
Talk to Snow White to begin “The Decay of Fashion” in Disney Dreamlight Valley. She tells you there is a bridge Maximus can cross to reach Glamour Gulch once you have levelled up Maximus, enabling him to make the jump. She also wonders if you might find Cruella lurking in Glamour Gulch.
To level up your Friendship with Maximus to level 3, you can do the following things:
- Pet and brush him once per day.
- Feed him his favorite things of the day, once per day. Here, you can give Maximus up to three favorite foods of each day.
- To build XP, ride Maximus across Dead Wishblossoms and other obstacles, plus perform daily activities using your horse, using one of the specialisms you chose previously when leveling up your horse’s abilities, such as watering crops.
Once you reach level 3 Friendship with Maximus, talk to Snow White and follow her to the bridge that leads to Glamour Gulch on the map. Once there, speak to Snow White again to initiate a cutscene of Maximus leaping across the gap and into Glamour Gulch.
Follow Cruella’s Tire Tracks, Cross the Bridge, and Explore the Quarry
The next objective in “The Decay of Fashion” is to follow Cruella’s tire tracks on the ground. They lead you to a bridge, which you will need to gallop towards to leap across riding Maximus – this time, it’s not a cut scene, and you will see Maximus jump the gap to cross the bridge.
Once safely across the bridge, continue following the tire tracks forward towards the edge of the Quarry. Descend the wooden slope into the Quarry to find Cruella’s Makeup Kit on the ground (the object surrounded by red fog). Interact with the MakeUp Kit while riding Maximus to sniff it and pick up Cruella’s scent trail.
Follow the Scent Trail through Glamour Gulch
To follow the scent trail, follow the small puffs of red fog-like patches back up the wooden slope and along the river to the left. Follow the trail inside the cave just past the red bush with scissors to find and talk to Cruella herself, who has taken refuge there! It turns out her motorcar crashed into the Quarry and she entered the cave to rest.
Cruella tells you that if you help get her car out of the ravine, she will give you the Crystal Key, which she says she placed in the boot of her car for safekeeping. However, she also needs to find out what De Vil Moor (the name she uses for Glamour Gulch) looks like.
Take Pictures of the Quarry Mine Tracks, Iron Bridge, and Lighthouse near the Beach
The next step in “The Decay of Fashion” is to take pictures of three locations around Glamour Gulch:
- The Quarry Mine Tracks
- Iron Bridge
- The Lighthouse near the beach
Equipping your Royal Camera, head to the southwest corner of the small beach area opposite the Quarry in the Paisley Park area of Glamour Gulch to take a photo of the Lighthouse in the distance.
Next, head to the bridge directly opposite the beach to take a photo of the Iron Bridge above, as shown below.
Lastly, head back to the top of the Quarry and take a photo of the Mine Tracks in the distance – as long as you can see the Mine Tracks in the shot, you can stand anywhere you like.
Gather Materials to Repair the Bell Tower
After taking all three photos, speak to Cruella back in the cave where you met her near the Quarry. She also tasks you with repairing the Bell Tower. However, you will need to track down and collect several materials across Glamour Gulch to fix it, as follows:
- Pixie Dust x20
- Sequin Strands x10
- Antique Clothes Irons x10
- Beady Soilx10
- Jasper x5
Clear Away Dead Wishblossoms (Pixie Dust)
To get Pixie Dust, gallop over Dead Wishblossoms around Glamour Gulch while riding a horse, such as Maximus. It’s also possible to collect Pixie Dust while mining rock nodes around any area in this biome.
Forage for Sequin Strands
To get Sequin Strands, look for red plants with blue ribbon growing from the ground, which you can find growing anywhere around Runway River, Paisley Park, Haute Plateau, and, when unlocked, Modish Marsh.
Mine for Antique Clothes Irons
To get Antique Clothes Irons, use your Royal Pickaxe to mine rock nodes around any area in Glamour Gulch (Runway River, Paisley Park, Haute Plateau, and Modish Marsh). Antique Clothes Irons are a common spawn drop, so it shouldn’t take too long to pick up 10.
Dig for Beady Soil
You can find and collect Beady Soil by digging anywhere in Glamour Gulch using your Royal Shovel for a chance to unearth it. Beady Soil looks like pink soil with lilac spots, and you can pick up around three pieces at a time when collecting it from the ground.
Mine for Jasper
Lastly, perhaps the trickiest collectible on the list is Jasper, which seems to have a much lower spawn rate compared to Antique Clothes Irons. However, you can mine Jasper by mining any rock node in any map area within Glamour Gulch, but you may need to do a couple of laps of the area before any start to spawn. It also helps to bring a mining companion along to harvest multiple Jasper at once and to save time.
Repair the Bell Tower and Talk to Goofy
Once you have gathered all the necessary materials, head to the Bell Tower near the top of Haute Plateau. Interact with the yellow sign to repair the Bell Tower by transferring all the necessary materials from your inventory across to the slots on the right, completing the Bell Tower blueprint, and repairing it.
However, Cruella has another job for you before she says she will hand over the Crystal Key – preparing a spot of Afternoon Tea! She tells you that Goofy’s travelling caravan stall should have all the ingredients you need. Use the map to locate and talk to Goofy, who says you can check out his stall to buy any necessary ingredients you might need.
Gather the Afternoon Tea Set Ingredients
To make the Afternoon Tea Set meal for Cruella, a 4* Wishblossom Ranch recipe, you will need to gather the following ingredients:
- Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans x1
- Pearly Barley x1
- Pincushion Peach x1
- Any Vegetable x1
Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans
You can buy a bag of Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans from Goofy’s Travelling Caravan Stall for 60 Gold Star Coins, a type of Fruit in the Expansion. Once planted, Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans take 30 minutes to grow and give two Dark Chocolate Coffee Beans on harvesting.
Pearly Barley
You can also buy a bag of Pearly Barley from Goofy’s Travelling Caravan Stall for 50 Gold Star Coins, a new type of grain in the Wishblossom Ranch Expansion. It takes 20 minutes to grow Pearly Barley once planted, and harvesting it gives you two Pearly Barley.
Pincushion Peach
You can harvest Pincushion Peach from fruit trees around Glamour Gulch. These look like purple trees with peach-colored, pincushion-style fruits. Harvesting these trees gives you two Pincushion Peaches.
Any Vegetable
To complete the Afternoon Tea Set recipe, you also need to add any vegetable of your choice. You could use a vegetable from the base game, such as Carrot, or one of the new vegetables from Wishblossom Ranch, such as Beetroot or Scarlet Kale.
Once you have gathered all the necessary ingredients, cook the Afternoon Tea Set recipe at any cooking station, such as the one near your home at Wishing Way. Afterward, give the Afternoon Tea Set to Cruella, who then asks you to place the Afternoon Tea Set furniture so you can have tea together.
Decorate Glamour Gulch with the Afternoon Tea Set
Using the Furniture Menu, select and place the Afternoon Tea Set furniture anywhere you like in Glamour Gulch to complete this objective, taking a photo of your display with the Royal Camera. Lastly, talk to Cruella a final time to complete “The Decay of Fashion” Quest, kick-starting the next Cruella Story Quest – “The De Vil Crash”!
