At Copenhagen Fashion Week, there’s plenty of style inspiration to be found on the runway. But it’s the street style in particular that seems to be the best source for outfit ideas and trend forecasting. One year, for example, I noticed that Scandi influencers were wearing allover leather to the shows here long before it become popular everywhere else.
And in August 2025? Suddenly, it seems like all the fashion pros—myself included—are focusing on one very specific outfit detail: lace. If there’s one trend dominating the street style at Copenhagen Fashion Week, it’s definitely lace. I’m seeing it everywhere right now: in my social media feed, in every store, and now in Copenhagen.
But if you’re thinking Bridgerton vibes, you’re wrong: The lace styling here is surprisingly cool and edgy. As is so often the case in fashion, the trick lies in the styling. All the successful street-style looks that incorporate lace use it as a way to break up the outfit.

Some examples I’ve seen: wearing a lace skirt with XXL knitwear or layered over jeans. A lace top might be combined with a heavy workwear jacket, or an athleisure windbreaker styled with a dreamy lace skirt. It’s the contrast of “hard” with seemingly delicate materials that brings depth to each look. The ideal thing about this trend is that it’s not something that has to stay in summer, either. These pieces can (and should!) also be paired with sweaters, boots, and the like in autumn.
For a recent look, for example, I wore a black asymmetric lace dress from Zara over a long leather skirt from Filippa K. The additional layer of the lace broke up the otherwise very clean look and made it more exciting. The fact that the lace piece and the skirt are the same color, however, made the extra layer a more subtle moment.
