One teenager remains in hospital
Two teenagers suffered serious injuries following a two-car crash. Lancashire Police were called to Rainford Road in Bickerstaffe at around 11pm on Sunday, June 22.
A woman in her late teens and a man in his late teens were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The woman remains in hospital at the time of writing.
A third person suffered minor injuries, a spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said.
Another driver, who was travelling on Rainford Road at the time of the incident, said he witnessed the crash.
He described how one car “tried to do a U-turn” on the road and crashed into another car which was travelling on the other side of the carriageway. He added: “The car was put into a spin. It hit the lamppost and then it flipped seven or eight times before coming to a rest.”
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “At around 11pm on Sunday, June 22, we were called to reports of a collision between 2 cars on Rainford Road, Bickerstaffe.
“Emergency services attended and a woman in her late teens and a man in his late teens were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The woman remains in hospital at this time.”
