On Wednesday, April 23, the “Taste of the Draft” will bring staple Wisconsin supper club dishes to the Schreiber Foods headquarters on the corner of Washington and Main streets in the heart of downtown Green Bay. From relish trays to prime rib, guests can sample a wide variety of local bites, while mingling with current and former NFL players. But it’s not just about food and football. The event benefits the national nonprofit GENYOUth, an organization striving to serve healthy meals to school-age children. One in six Wisconsin children are food insecure. “We were just thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this event to the draft, highlight phenomenal Wisconsin supper clubs themes that you really only find in the state of Wisconsin,” GENYOUth CEO Ann Marie Krautheim said. “And importantly, we’re generating revenue that’s going to go back to Wisconsin schools to help Wisconsin children have more access to healthy school meals.”Ninety Wisconsin schools will benefit from the event, in honor of the 90th NFL Draft.
