Taiwan’s SOMA Tea & Mocktail Has Arrived In Hong Kong At K11 Musea

Hongkongers are spoiled for choice when it comes to milk tea and bubble tea. From local homegrown stores to popular foreign brands, we’ve got it all. And now, they’re getting yet another strong option. The award-winning Taiwanese milk tea brand SOMA Tea & Mocktail is opening its first Hong Kong store. Get ready to try its famous tea-based creations at the new K11 Musea location.

SOMA Tea & Mocktail has long been a favourite among milk tea fans in Taiwan. The brand aims to create “the best possible cup” of takeaway drinks, with a focus on the classic milk tea. Each drink is made with carefully selected ingredients, a curated blend, and attention to detail. The brand was voted as the “No. 1 Milk Tea” at the 2019 Taiwan Milk Tea Festival, and is still a go-to for many Taiwanese.

Last year, the brand entered Hong Kong for the first time with a pop-up at The Farmhouse Deli. This time, it’s opening its first permanent store at K11 Musea. Now Hongkongers can try its signature drinks without travelling out of the city.

SOMA Tea & Mocktail shakes up Hong Kong with signature drinks

Customers can try out three categories of drinks. The highlight is, of course, the award-winning Milk Tea series, made with a blend of three black teas as the base. Try the original SOMA Milk Tea to get a proper taste of the special blend. Or, get the other flavours, like almond, chocolate, black sesame, or even Italian coffee for a yuenyeung-like drink. You can even get a boozy milk tea, spiked with French brandy.

Those who prefer a lighter drink should try the High Mountain Tea series, which highlights Taiwan’s tea leaves. The High Mountain Golden Tea is slightly sweetened to show off the tea’s natural flavours. Or, you can try it paired with fruit juices like mango, orange, pear, and lemon.

And don’t miss out on the Premium Essentia drinks, which are seasonal. At launch, the series includes a matcha latte and a hojicha latte, both hand-whisked. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Hong Kong-exclusive Black Truffle Milk Tea.

Currently, the SOMA Tea & Mocktail Hong Kong menu is missing the Mocktail series, which features a range of sparkling drinks. Stay tuned to see whether they’ll bring this series over to Hong Kong as well as more seasonal items. For now, visit the store to try out the drinks or order them through Foodpanda.
