A Chennai-based businessman and owner of EVP Film City was booked for assaulting and harassing a city-based fashion designer by forcing her into a relationship.
Based on the complaint, the Vyalikaval police registered an FIR against Santosha Reddy recently, for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and sexual harassment.
In her complaint, the victim said she got introduced to Reddy after she had taken up a design project for his daughter for their relative’s wedding. After a couple of chats, the accused allegedly offered to invest in her business, but she declined.
He then started talking to her and asked if she could get an alliance for his daughter. The complainant alleged that he recently visited her house to ask help to pacify his daughter as he had a fight with his daughter who stopped talking to him.
The victim alleged that he then proposed to her.
When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her and threatened her and her family members with dire consequences.
The police have launched a probe.
