Rob Zangardi — an A-list celebrity stylist whose clients with partner Mariel Haenn include Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Lily Collins, Hailee Steinfeld, Suki Waterhouse, Sofia Carson, Kelsea Ballerini and more — is branching out on his own with the launch of an outerwear-focused fashion line.
Called Auter, pronounced “outer,” the brand is designed with a mission to redefine the coat “as the centerpiece of modern style” for both men and women with pieces that can be worn over jeans or a red carpet ensemble. True to form, Auter emerges with this tagline: “It’s what’s on the outside that counts.” The first collection utilizes sculptural wool, technical waterproof gabardine, plush shearling and animal-free fur.
As a stylist with more than two decades of experience, Zangardi leaned into launching his own line as he was searching for outerwear that “felt both luxurious and versatile, relaxed yet structured.” Per the brand, that search led him on a five-year journey with Italian factories that produce items for luxury fashion houses. “What started as a personal project evolved into a passion for transforming the way people approach outerwear. I wanted to create the final layer — the piece that makes you feel complete the moment you put it on,” Zangardi said in a statement.
Auter debuts today exclusively online. See the brand’s first looks below with pieces that range in price from $900 to $1,600.
