Shorts and stops: Healthy eating, Republicans, McDonald’s

I like this!

Here are some tips from the Mayo Clinic for healthy eating: Eat out no more than once a week; avoid processed foods; eat fresh or organic, non-GMO foods when possible; and eat with someone — dinners with family and friends encourage community.

Good information but it’s not like we are unaware of how to be healthy — and stay healthy — it’s just not always easy to stick to those rules.

It doesn’t hurt to be reminded.

Why?

“Illegal Alien Sentenced to Prison for Organized Criminal Activity in North Texas: Sergio Cardenas- Salinas has been deported from the U.S. twice.” (from TexasMinute)

So now we taxpayers must foot the bill for housekeeping while this criminal is held in an American prison. How much cheaper it would have been if we had kept him out of this country in the first place — or in the second place — as it were.

Republicans are slow

“And Tucker Carlson told you to consider rushing in your support … Glenn Beck followed Tucker’s lead … Then Ben Shapiro put his money where his mouth is and sent in his own cash!” (from 1776 Project PAC newsletter)

The 1776 Project PAC is dedicated to campaigning on behalf of Pro-Parent, Pro-America, conservative school board candidates. These prominent spokesmen have inspired thousands of grassroots patriots to follow their lead by making their own donations, and paying attention to local races.

It has taken Republicans a long time to catch on, but finally they are realizing how they can make a difference; the momentum is growing. In fact, it is growing so much that the media are paying attention — after having spent years ignoring George Soros’s political influence in elections.

Now the media are focusing on how local races are being impacted. That sudden interest is largely centered around Elon Musk’s recent entry into politics in support of Donald Trump. Musk, the genius that he is, is encouraging and giving support to local political races.

It has taken a while, but Republicans are finally waking up to smell the politics of the left.

Print is king

Two newspapers from Dublin, Ireland, and one from Marion County in Kansas.

Thanks to readers who pick up copies of print newspapers in their travels, and share them with us! We sometimes feel that we are all alone in the world of print, and it’s good to know that we are not.

Thank you, Dr. Richard Nimz and Ralph Larson for bringing these newspapers.

McDonald’s

Leave it to Donald John Trump to make headlines, and not every headline has to be about life-and-death seriousness. Trump has a sense of humor.

Over the weekend, Trump trolled Kamala’s campaign by serving french fries to customers at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania.

Harris had claimed that, being that she was raised as a middle class kid and all, she once worked at a McDonald’s. In the weeks since Harris made that claim, it seems that no one has been able to verify that as a fact. McDonald’s has even said they have no record of her ever working there.

So Trump on Sunday spent some time at a McDonald’s. Reuters ran a photo of him with a McDonald’s uniform apron over his signature red tie. He was smiling as he passed out french fries to surprised customers, and now says confidently that he has “worked more hours” at a McDonald’s than has Harris.

You can probably chalk that up as another one of the thousands of “lies” that his critics attribute to his exaggerations.

As for me, I’m suddenly craving a giant serving of McDonald’s french fries.

That’s my opinion.

What’s yours?
