Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 22nd that it has renovated its Uijeongbu Women’s Fashion Hall. It is the largest since its opening in 2012.

The key to this renewal is a significant reinforcement of the “Young Fashion” brand that reflects the latest trends in the Women’s Fashion Hall on the 5th floor.

In the past three years, 42,000 new apartments with a size of 42,000 households have been moved in near the Uijeongbu branch, increasing the number of newlyweds and single-person households in their 20s and 30s. Shinsegae Department Store has reorganized its 1,500-square-meter store into a brand with a youthful sense.

According to the National Statistical Portal, the proportion of single-person households in Uijeongbu last year was 32.9% of the total, exceeding the average of Gyeonggi-do (31.7%).

According to Shinsegae Department Store, about 45% of all customers who purchased Uijeongbu in the first half of this year visited the Young Fashion genre brand. Looking at the total sales of stores by age group, the sales growth rate in their 20s and 30s was 13.1%, far above those in their 60s and 70s (4.7%), and it is believed that the increase in the number of young customers living nearby has directly led to sales growth.

General Idea, Aide, and editing shop “Hago House” entered the northern Gyeonggi business district for the first time, and the domestic SPA (manufacturing and distribution package) brand “8 Seconds” entered a 150-pyeong mega shop. The number of brands has decreased from 60 to 50, but the area of each store has expanded by more than 20% on average.

To commemorate the renewal, Shinsegae Department Store will also hold various promotions such as purchase gift events by brand, social network service (SNS) hashtag events, and app lottery events until the 25th.

Lee Yong-hwan, head of Shinsegae Department Store’s Uijeongbu branch, said, “With this renewal, we will leap to a new fashion center in northern Gyeonggi Province,” adding, “We will showcase differentiated brands and sensual spaces tailored to the eye level of young customers and establish ourselves as a representative shopping landmark in the region.”
